A major Christmas celebration is being planned for Atlantic City thanks to the allocation of $595,000 by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
The authority agreed to spend the money in hopes of attracting more visitors at a time when casinos usually struggle.
Plans call for six-foot candy canes to be hung on each light post on Atlantic Avenue and a 35-foot tall Christmas tree with 3,000 lights to sparkle in the South Inlet.
