The woman was pretty excited when she won the $1,200 jackpot at a Tucson, Arizona, tribal casino but her attitude soon changed when the casino called immigration officials because of questionable identification documents.
Mirna Valenzuela found her luck wasn’t so good when she was deported to Mexico after officials found she actually had entered the country illegally. Her daughter, however, was permitted to stay in this country because she qualified for the Obama administration’s deferred-action rule regarding young people.
A casino executive said the woman’s winnings are still being held at the casino and she can claim them as soon as she returns, legally.
