Casino plans for the Sioux City, Iowa, community have not gone unnoticed among the residents. A hearing last week on four different plans for a land-based casino attracted more than 350 people.

And they showed up to express their opinions.

The five members of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission listened to scores of viewpoints on the plans of Penn National Gaming Inc. (PENN) for a casino to be located in the southern edge of the city; Ho-Chunk Inc., who plan a development at the Davidson Building and Warrior Hotel, and the plans of Sioux City Entertainment for a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at the historic Battery Building.
