What the Oxford Casino needs is a hotel to accommodate customers, say a group of investors who are planning just such a project.
Casalinova Development Group, headed by Joseph Casalinova, said it plans to build an 80 to120 room, four-story hotel on what is now the family-owned Crestholm Farm, across the street from the casino.
There was no comment from the casino operators who are selling the gambling enterprise to Churchill Downs Inc. (CHDN) for $160 million.
The sale has yet to receive approval from the Maine Gaming Control Board.
