Veteran dog track owner George Carney has made a deal with the Raynham (Mass.) Board of Selectmen that could bring a slots parlor to Raynham Park, a defunct dog racing facility that operated for a half-century before closing a few years ago.
Under the terms of the agreement, Carney, the developer, will pay the town annual fees of more than $1.1 million.
Before it takes effect, the agreement must be approved in a town-wide referendum.
Only one slots facility license was approved by the law expanding gambling in Massachusetts.
