Located in the mountainous district of western Maryland, Rocky Gap Casino Resort, a property that began its gaming operations in late May, had everybody smiling after reporting it had revenues of more than $776,000 during the first 10 days.
The property was purchased last year by Lyle Berman’s Lakes Entertainment Inc. (LACO), the publicly-traded gaming company that added the casino to the established resort. The casino holds 558 slot machines and 10 gaming tables.
Officials of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission reported that more than $600,000 of the revenue came from the slot machines.
