For the past 10 months, a club called “The Act” has been operating in the Palazzo hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Now the property owner, Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS), wants the club evicted.
Casino officials say the club’s shows are “so raunchy” they violate obscenity laws. The club operator charges the LVS officials “were well aware of our brand” and is seeking a restraining order against the Sands.
The club remains open while a judge considers its fate.
As Michael Green, a history professor at the College of Southern Nevada, was recently quoted as saying, “The goal for Las Vegas was to be naughty enough to attract you but not naughty enough to repel you.”
