The hopes of Penn National Gaming Inc. (PENN) to enlist the services of a third party in its dispute with the Missouri River Historical Development over payments from the Argosy Sioux City, Iowa, riverboat were dashed last week by a county judge.
According to the Sioux City Journal, Judge Robert Hanson rejected a motion that would have allowed the gaming company to use a third-party receiver to collect and distribute the charitable funds generated by the riverboat.
The judge ruled the non-profit group was still entitled to revenue generated for charitable purposes, according to state law.
