For more than two decades, the community of D’Iberville, Mississippi, has seen a succession of casino developers with projects under their arms, only to see them pack up and move on.
Not so, this time, however.
Construction of the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort on the Back Bay, east of Interstate 110, is expected to begin early next year, now that the project has the blessing of the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
Planned is a casino with a 300-room hotel, restaurants, an event center and a miniature golf course. The total investment is expected to be around $250 million.
