Ark. police issue illegal gambling machine warning

The police chief of Texarkana, Arkansas, has issued a warning to the city’s arcades that he will seize their equipment and arrest the owners if they operate illegal gambling machines.

Chief Bob Harrison says he’s gotten complaints about arcades where people can play eight-liner machines and other prohibited games.

Harrison said some of the illegal operators appear to believe they are immune to prosecution. In 2012, there were a number of gambling arrests but they did not result in convictions.
