Mary Chris Gay, a prominent Wall Street portfolio manager, has been elected to the board of directors of MGM Resorts International (MGM).

Penn National Gaming Inc. (PENN) and Greenwood Racing, the two companies that lost out to MGM Resorts International in their bids for a casino license in Maryland have agreed not to sue, according to officials of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.

Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. (PNK) will announce its fourth quarter and full-year financial results on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 7 a.m. PDT.

An attempt to allow casino gambling in the Commonwealth of Virginia has died in the state legislature. However, sponsors say they will make another attempt next year.

Boomtown Casino New Orleans said it is on schedule to open its $20 million expansion in July. The expansion includes a 150-room hotel and conference area. The casino is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River, about 15 minutes from the New Orleans French Quarter.

Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, Indiana, says it has laid off a dozen workers because of a slowdown in business.
