The odds for being hired at a job fair conducted last week at Tilman Fertitta’s Golden Nugget Atlantic City Casino were slim but 1,300 hopefuls showed up to pitch for the 50 jobs being filled.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) announced Robert DeSalvio, who has served as president of the Sands Casino Bethlehem in Pennsylvania since its opening four years ago, has resigned.

The New Mexico Supreme Court will hear arguments next week on whether the Oklahoma-based Fort Sill Apache Tribe can force Gov. Susana Martinez to recognize its status in New Mexico. The tribe has a 30-acre plot in its homelands in southwestern New Mexico that it would use to build a casino.

The famed Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City has been sold to a Florida real estate firm that plans to operate it as a stand-alone, non-casino hotel.

The Colorado House of Representatives has given initial approval to prohibiting the sale of lottery tickets online. Sponsors of the bill say this will help curb underage gambling.
