It was celebration time last week for officials of International Game Technology (IGT). They joined the operators of the newly-renovated Dania Casino and Jai-Alai in the Florida casino’s grand opening.
The Dania facility has long been a popular entertainment venue but since new owners acquired the property from Boyd Gaming Corp. last year a complete renovation has taken place.
That renovation has IGT machines leading the opposition with 40 percent of the gaming floor.
“The vast selection of IGT titles in the property’s casino represents a variety of game themes, from MegaJackpots, to core and video poker,” noted a Dania official.
And, on the home front, IGT announced that it will dominate the gaming floor of the soon to open SLS Las Vegas Hotel/Casino with a 50 percent share of the total number of gaming machines being installed.
“It’s a huge win for IGT to provide our best-in-class content and drive player excitement at SLS Las Vegas,” said Eric Tom, IGT’s executive vice president of Global Sales.
“We’re creating a phenomenal entertainment experience at SLS Las Vegas for local players and those seeking the hottest new travel destination,” added Rob Oseland, SLS Las Vegas president.
SLS Las Vegas, the former Sahara Hotel/Casino on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, is being developed into an all-encompassing, mixed-use resort and casino with more than 1,600 guest rooms and suites, 30,000 square feet of meeting space and a number of additional amenities.
The rebuilt property is slated to open Labor Day weekend.
