The T-Mobile Arena’s joint venture partners AEG and MGM Resorts International (MGM) have announced that the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification to the Las Vegas Strip facility.
The 20,000-seat sports and entertainment venue will be the home of NHL expansion team, Vegas Golden Knights. LEED is a leading rating system for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
"From inception through design, development and construction, MGM Resorts and AEG prioritized environmental sustainability at the T-Mobile Arena," said Cindy Ortega, MGM Resorts International's Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer.
She added, "Achieving another LEED Gold certification shows our commitment to environmentally responsible construction and our desire to have a positive impact on our community and the planet."
