The Macau Statistics and Census Service says the number of visitors arriving in Chinese gambling enclave during April saw an 11 percent year-on-year increase, to 2.74 million.
Additional details from the data released Tuesday include ain crease in the number of overnight visitors increasing to 1.44 million. That’s a 17.7-percent year-on-year increase. The number of same-day visitors rose 4.4 percent year-on-year, to 1.30 million.
Mainland China-based visitors totaled 1.76 million, up by 7.1 percent compared to the same period last year. South Korean and Hong Kong guests increased by 48.7 percent and 25.3 percent respectively, while the monthly total of visitors from Taiwan dropped 2.8 percent year-on-year.
