Good news in May for Jack Cleveland Casino where improving business generated revenue of $17.4 million. That put the casino slightly ahead of Toledo and Cincinnati casinos but slightly behind the $18.4 million revenue at Hollywood Columbus.

Cleveland media note that Jack Cleveland's revenue, which was similar to April, cannot be compared to May 2016 because the casino was closed for 40 hours for the changeover from Caesars Horseshoe brand to the Jack brand.

Statewide casino revenue was $70.2 million in May, a 5.6 percent increase from May 2016. Statewide revenue for the seven racinos was $83 million, a 6.1 percent increase from May 2016. Racinos are the casino locations in Ohio that also conduct horseracing.

In Ohio revenue is defined as the money left after casinos and racinos pay winners and deduct for promotions.
