The Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport, Iowa has come to the aide of local Girl Scouts with a donation this week of $21,000 to assist the Girl Scout’s after school programs.

The donation will go towards leadership and financial literacy programs. Girl Scout leaders say the donation has made it possible for thousands of girls to learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs, life skills, and entrepreneurship.

"It lets us really expand our program to more girls in the community because the more girls involved in our program the better set they'll be for the future to really become our community leaders of tomorrow," said Maura Warner,  Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois spokesperson.

All of the money will stay local.

Rhythm City Casino Resort, earlier this year, presented Make-A-Wish Iowa with a $68,246 to assist in that group’s programs.
