On December 22nd, just in time for Christmas and New Year’s, The Pechanga Band of Luiseño are expected to conduct the official opening of their expanded casino/resort in Temecula, California.
The multi-million dollar enhancement of the casino/resort includes a new hotel tower increasing the number of rooms at the property to more than 1000.
Another centerpiece of the expansion is a new, two-story luxury spa featuring 17 treatment rooms in a 25,000 sq. ft. facility to be called Spa Pechanga that will include a wet area with steam room, sauna, private pool with cabana massage services, spa pool and two indoor hydrotherapy pools.
There will also be a large health and fitness club and as well as a full-service nail and hair salon.
“This development will build upon the quality and reputation of the original resort and continue our Tribe’s entrepreneurial spirit for future generations,” said Mark Macarro, tribal chair.
The Pechanga Resort & Casino, just off the busy I-15 corridor just north of San Diego County, first opened in 2002 and was designed feature and highlight the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians' culture.
The Pechanga expansion is just one of many planned for tribal casinos in the region during the next few years. The tribe says the $285 million upgrade makes their casino the largest in California.
