The next major popularity test for competitive video gaming begins in March when The Esports Arena Las Vegas inside the Luxor Resort & Casino opens on March 22 on the Las Vegas Strip. It marks the Strip’s first venue dedicated to competitive video gaming, already gaining popularity in downtown Las Vegas.

The venue, constructed in what was formerly the LAX nightclub, features a 30,000-square-foot multilevel arena with a competition stage backed by a 50-foot LED video wall.

The facility plans to host both amateur and professional gaming tournaments.

The opening at the MGM International’s Luxor is an invitation-only event and will include a video gaming tournament that will be live-streamed.
