When it opens its doors next week, MGM Cotai, MGM International’s new integrated resort in Macau, will feature a four-story high “digital canvas” that the company says will form the heart of the property.
The resort in the world’s largest gaming hub is set to open on Jan. 29.
Called Spectacle, the display will be longer than a football field (100 yards) and is described as “an innovative, multi-dimensional sensory experience.”
“Everyone wants to know what is Spectacle,” said Grant Bowie, CEO and executive director of MGM China. “It’s a digital canvas, a reflective space. It’s mesmerizing, whimsical and entertaining.”
The precision-engineered, column-free, long-span structure will “seem to be alive,” MGM said, continually evolving and responding to changing conditions such as visitor behaviors, weather, time of day or season.
