Geoff Freeman to address NBA's betting proposal Tuesday

American Gaming Association (AGA) President and CEO Geoff Freeman will host a conference call with reporters Tuesday concentrating on answering questions regarding the NBA’s recent proposal that sports leagues receive a cut of all money legally wagered on sporting events. The AGA is the national trade group representing the $240 billion U.S. casino industry.

Freeman will also officially announce the AGA’s estimate of the amount that will be wagered illegally on Super Bowl LII.

Those anxiously awaiting a June U.S. Supreme Court ruling that could pave the way for national sports wagering, fear the NBA’s demand for a 1 percent share of all bets on their games could severely hamper the economic viability of U.S. sports wagering and bolster an already prosperous offshore industry.
