Boyd Gaming agreement to purchase Valley Forge casino approved

The agreement through which Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming purchased Valley Forge Casino Resort has been approved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, officially transferring the gaming license from Valley Forge Convention Center Partners, L.P..

Boyd Gaming operates more than 20 casinos in the United States with Valley Forge now the company’s first Pennsylvania casino property. Boyd is now required to pay to the Pennsylvania a change of control fee of $1.35 million.

Industry observers believe Boyd, a Southern Nevada locals’ mainstay, is now poised take advantage of online gambling in Pennsylvania and sports wagering, should these forms of wagering be legalized.
