In Macau, government officials report gambling revenue grew a solid 12.5 percent in June, thanks to steady demand from largely Chinese bettors visiting China’s only venue for legal casino gambling.
Official data showed revenues rose to 22.49 billion patacas ($2.78 billion) in June, just short of analysts' expectations of 17-21 percent growth.
June is now the 23rd consecutive month of revenue gains in Macau, which continues a steady rebound since 2014 lows attributed to slowing economic growth and a crackdown on corruption.
