Nevada-style sport betting did brisk business in Delaware casinos in the first reporting period for the newly opened enterprise in the state. Parlay card wagers on the NFL had been the only sports betting available in the state. Baseball single-game bets and other wagers became legal at three racetrack/casino venues on June 5.
The Delaware Lottery reports more that $7 million in sports wager were accepted for the month ending June 24. The lottery monthly reporting period ends on the last Sunday of the month.
Data released by the state said that, of the approximately $7 million in bets, $6 million was paid out to winners, resulting in a $1 million “profit” to cover various disbursements to vendors, host sites and state taxes. Mobile wagering is not yet available, but is expected to be offered in the future.
