Maryland’s six casinos produced $148.9 million in gaming revenue in June, up 14.1 percent from a year ago.
MGM National Harbor continues to account for lion’s share of the state’s casino revenue, with $59.3 million last month, an 18.3 percent boost over a year ago.
Live! Casino & Hotel generated $48.2 million, up 15.1 percent. Live! opened its 310-room hotel in May, as part of $200 million enlargement and remodel that also includes a new concert venue. Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino had $22.8 million in gaming revenue, up 3.3 percent from a year earlier.
At the state’s three smaller casinos, year-over-year gains in gaming revenue were also posted. At Ocean Downs Casino, revenue was up 29.8 percent. At Hollywood Casino Perryville, it was up 4.5 percent. At Rocky Gap Casino Resort, gaming revenue was up 5.2 percent.
Maryland has yet to act on legislation legalizing Nevada-style sports betting, but is expected to act soon because bets are already being taken in nearby Delaware and New Jersey. Neighbor West Virginia is expected to state taking sports bets in the next few weeks.
