MGM Resorts International and the National Basketball Association announced Tuesday a multi-year agreement providing the worldwide casino/resort operator with access to official NBA and WNBA data, in addition to other league promotional materials.
"Our collaboration will result in the best possible gaming and entertainment experience for consumers through the use of accurate, real-time NBA and WNBA data, and our collective efforts to maintain and enhance the integrity of our games," said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said.
Silver appeared alongside MGM Chairman and CEO Jim Murren at a New York City media event to announce the approximately $25 million, three-year deal.
"The NBA has always been an innovator at the forefront of sports evolution, and MGM Resorts is thrilled to partner with the league to revolutionize sports betting in the United States," Murren said.
MGM's use of the NBA and WNBA data and branding is not exclusive, allowing the leagues to make similar deals with other casinos offering sports betting.
The deal is part of MGM’s recent push to roll out sports wagering in new markets, including New Jersey and Mississippi and other legal markets, as they become available.
