The Greek government is moving forward with its efforts to transition the country into a leading gambling destination with news that The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) has now asked all interested parties to participate in the consultation process for the granting of an integrated resort license on the site of the former Hellinikon International Airport.
“The Hellinikon Casino goes beyond the licensing of just another gaming facility,” said the HGC. “This present call reflects the collective vision and commitment to collaborate on the further development and implementation of a sustainable tourism destination.
The government agency says it “envisages a world-class integrated resort casino operation as an important part of the Hellinikon, a project destined to transform the wider area of Athens and improve the lives of millions of residents and visitors to our capital city, enhance the Greek tourism product and become a growth engine for the Greek economy.”
