Penn National Gaming Inc. failed to reach the revenue and earnings projections that had been set by analysts for the third quarter.

Penn reported earnings of 38 cents per share. Analysts predicted 43 cents for the period that ended on September 30.

Jay Snowden, president and chief operating officer at Penn, is confident that the company will have a strong fourth quarter, partly because of projections for the Tropicana and M Resort properties in Las Vegas.

“Our trends right now in Las Vegas are very good,” Snowden said, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
