Remember that proposed lagoon called Paradise Park with white-sand beaches at Wynn Las Vegas? Forget about it.

Remember the 18-hole golf course that was so popular at the Wynn but closed last December? It’s coming back.

Wynn Resorts announced that it is scrapping plans for the lagoon, part of a $1.5 billion project behind the casino property on the Las Vegas Strip.

“The golf course will be restored and back in action by this time next year,” Wynn CEO Matt Maddox said during a conference call with investors.

Maddox estimated that the Wynn and its sister property Encore had lost as much as $15 million in “domestic casino business” because guests who enjoyed the golf course went elsewhere.
