The makeover at the Palms Casino Resort is still scheduled to be completed in less than a year, but the cost continues to rise.
Red Rock Resorts (Station Casinos) owns the Palms and is making major upgrades at the property located not far from the Las Vegas Strip.
The price tag went from $485 million to $620 million last winter and now it’s been increased by another 10 percent, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
“The overall budget for the redevelopment project has been increased to approximately $690 million, primarily due to increased construction costs driven by high demand in the Las Vegas market as well as higher material costs,” the company said in its third-quarter report.
The renovation, which includes a redesigned gaming floor, new restaurants/clubs and upgraded rooms/suites, should be completed by the third quarter in 2019.
