Iowa debating sports betting bills

Can you make a parlay sports bet in a grocery story or a gas station? Or will it be in a casino? Or will it be on a mobile phone?

That's the dilemma facing Iowa lawmakers as they debate how to proceed with allowing sports betting in their state.

There are three bills up for review this week in the state's legislature regarding sports betting.

Iowa has 19 commercial casinos. Wes Ehrecke, president and CEO of the Iowa Gaming Association, told the Des Moines Register that any sports betting should be limited to the casinos.

"They've got to make some philosophical decisions," Ehrecke told the Register. "Should it be on the casino platform? Or elsewhere? We feel we're the best suited."
