South Dakota to hold sports betting proposal

In South Dakota, lawmakers are expected to hold a hearing on a proposal asking voters to legalize sports betting in Deadwood as well as in the state's tribal casinos. If approved in 2020, sports wagering could be available in July 2021.

According to the Associated Press, supporters of the bill say it will revitalize Deadwood as a gambling destination. Opponents cite it could lead to gambling addiction.
