The proposed extension of the Las Vegas Monorail system may have to wait.
A recent announcement detailed there has been a delay of the extension of the Las Vegas monorail that runs from the SLS to MGM Grand.
The plan is to extend the monorail through to the Mandalay Bay and would include a stop near the new Las Vegas Stadium that is currently being constructed. However, the monorail is not expected to be done prior to the 2020 NFL season and the first year in Las Vegas for the Raiders.
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Ingrid Reisman said in a statement to the Las Vegas Sun, “The timing of the project is dependent on the close finance, of which I’m not in a position to speculate.”
The original extension of the monorail was expected to start in June. The monorail gets 4.8 million riders annually.
