Business conditions in Macau are improving says Rowen Craigie, CEO of Melco Crown Entertainment (MPEL).
Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting in Melbourne, Australia, Craigie said, "There are indications that the business environment in Macau is improving. We see long term potential for the Macau market growth given its exposure to China."
He also noted that business at two Crown casinos in Melbourne and Burswood "continued to exhibit solid growth."
The Macau comments came as the Chinese enclave’s government announced that visitor volume had increased 2.7 percent to 1,890,252, year-over-year.
Analyzed by place of residence, visitors from mainland China grew by 14.6 percent to 1,016,411, or 53.8 percent of total visitor arrivals.
