Major League Baseball:

Cincinnati -133 at Chicago: The Reds have been a roll, winning six of seven games and moving to 15 games over .500, the first time that’s happened since 1999. The Cubs are going in the opposite direction, having lost nine of their last 10 games. Moreover, the Cubs have been a bust all season, even with baseball’s highest payroll. Cincinnati -133.

NY Mets at Phillies -205: The Mets got a rare road win yesterday, bringing their record on the road to just 21-36. They got the 1-0 win thanks to Santana’s pitching gem and Rodriguez’s 24th save. Unfortunately, Santana can’t pitch today (knuckle-baller Dickey takes the mound), and Philadelphia sends out its ace Roy Halladay. The Mets haven’t won back-to-back road games since June 22-23. No reason to think they’ll break that dubious streak. NY Mets -1½ runs
