When it comes to betting on baseball consider pitching duel

Yesterday I decided to put my money where my mouth is, actually walk into one of the Station Casinos sports books and place a bet on the ‘Over’ in a game where the line was 7.5.

As I placed the bet, the person behind the counter mentioned the pitching matchup and I could almost sense that he was unsure if I was betting the right way. When I walked away, with my ticket in hand, I felt a bit less confident than I did when I approached the ticket counter, but I told myself, what’s done is done and I had done my homework.

The reality, of course, is that my bet could go either way, and that’s the reason it’s called gambling. Nothing is for certain when it comes to betting, and the fact is that it will always come down to chance.

When it comes to betting on baseball, there are things that one should consider, including the pitching duel. However, I’m still convinced that if you love the game, it’s a good idea to bet the ‘Over’ and enjoy the game. Keep in mind that with baseball it’s never over ‘til it’s over. When you take the ‘Over’ in a game, you can sit back, relax and know that it’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings.

At least I’m pretty sure that’s how one famous play put it.

The game I bet on, with a line of 7-1/2 was looking good early on because the Tigers got an early lead against Cleveland and it was 5-2 going into the late innings. As I hoped for one more run, I had a feeling I might lose this one, but still I would not have bet it any other way.

Thursday games in MLB look to have some interesting matchups and the night matchup between Washington and Arizona is one I think that the Nationals might be victorious. The intangibles are important here. There’s something about Max Scherzer’s ability to manage to maintain control, and his outstanding velocity.

Take the Nationals to win, simply because it’s never wise to bet against Max.
