Las Vegas Bowl

BYU vs. Oregon State -1½ (Total 57½): The underdogs have performed well in this season’s early bowl games, winning two of the three match-ups outright. BYU has a chance to add to the string in Las Vegas tonight. Oregon State opened as the mild 3-point favorite, but betting action on BYU this week has nudged the line down to 1½ points. The Beavers have a high-octane attack, but the feeling is the team was let down three weeks ago when they lost to instate-rival Oregon with the Rose Bowl on the line. BYU is a good team, also with a prolific offense, though their defense is ranked in the bottom half of all Division 1A schools. Nonetheless, Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas will be filled with fans from Utah, who usually bring 40,000 for a Las Vegas game. That’s a pretty good "home field" advantage for the Cougars, and they’ll play hard. There should be a lot of scoring in this one and we’ll give the slight edge to the kids from Provo. BYU +1½ and OVER 57 ½
