Eagle Bank Bowl: UCLA -5 vs. Temple (Total 45): The UCLA Bruins sort of "backed" into the bowl game when Army lost to Navy, but you can be sure they’re not going to squander their chances against Temple. In his first season coaching his alma mater, Rick Neuheisel has done a decent job, with his defense ranking as one of the best in the Pac 10, and struggling all season with an offense beset by injuries and inconsistencies. They’re as close to full strength as possible now, and should be able to shut down Temple, a MAC team that started out on fire and fizzled at the end of the year. Temple plays its best ball on defense, so this game might be a low scoring affair in frigid conditions. UCLA -5 and lean to UNDER 45

Champs Sports Bowl: Miami (FL) -3 ½ vs. Wisconsin (Total 57½): The early perception is that Miami’s speed will be too much for the heavy-footed Badgers to handle. But not so fast. Wisconsin is actually better at moving the ball (they have a higher third-down conversion percentage) than Miami, and they’ve scored more points than the Hurricanes (32.8 points/game versus 31.7 points/game). That sounds like a nice recipe for backing a live underdog. Wisconsin +3½ and OVER the total of 57½
