NCAA basketball tournament:

Tennessee -1½ vs. Michigan State: It’s hard to go against Michigan State coach Tom Izzo in the month of March. He has the experience and savvy to pull off minor miracles. But he’ll need a major one today as Tennessee could be this season’s "team of destiny." It’s hard to believe they’ve come this far from the team that in January was facing restructuring with four players suspended. The credit has to go to coach Bruce Pearl for bringing the Volunteers to their first-ever Elite 8 appearance. The Vols knocked off Ohio State, whom many believed a real contender for the national championship. Tennessee has the guard play and athleticism to slow down the vaunted Duke offensive attack. That should be enough to land them in the Final Four. Tennessee -1 ½

Baylor vs. Duke -5: Baylor has to be considered another Cinderella story, even though they’re a No. 3 seed. After all, Kansas and Kansas State, as well as Oklahoma State to a lesser extent were considered more contenders than the Bears. Duke is the last remaining No. 1 standing and they’re facing plenty of pressure to advance. Duke plays a tenacious defense, but Baylor’s athletes should be up to breaking it. And Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, considered one of the game’s finest, has a trouble taking that final giant step to national prominence. It’s been a decade since they’ve beaten a seed this high, and he has only two national championships for 13 Elite Eight appearances, not a good sign for tonight’s contest. Baylor +5
