Let’s say you’re a fan of the Calgary Flames. DraftKings (+2000), FanDuel (+3200), and Caesars (+4000) are all dealing different odds on the Flames. You can double your money by betting at Caesars instead of DraftKings if Calgary wins the 2024 Stanley Cup.

The Bruins are the +800 betting co-favorite at DraftKings, but you can find Boston +1200 at Caesars and +1300 at FanDuel. Bottom line: Shop around!

Top 2024 NHL Contenders

We’re using the odds at DraftKings below for top 2024 NHL Contenders.

Avalanche (+800 odds)

Colorado captured the 2022 Stanley Cup with defenseman Cale Makar winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as MVP of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Center Nathan MacKinnon led the Avs with 111 points during the 2022-23 regular season after signing a contract extension that made him the NHL’s highest-paid player.

Bruins (+800)

Boston set the NHL record for most wins in a single season with 65 to win the Presidents’ Trophy this season. The Bruins were upset in the opening round of the 2023 playoffs by the Panthers.

David Pastrnak finished second in the NHL with 61 goals. Linus Ullmark is a lock to win the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goalie with a record of 40-6-1.

Maple Leafs (+900)

Toronto was also ousted by Florida in the postseason. The Maple Leafs always seem to attract dollars in the NHL’s futures betting market, despite not winning a Stanley Cup since 1967.

GM Kyle Dubas was recently relieved of his duties. Toronto President Brendan Shanahan will reportedly keep the “core four” of John Tavares, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and Auston Matthews together heading into next season.

Oilers (+1000)

Edmonton’s Connor McDavid is widely regarded as the NHL’s best player. He led the league in scoring with 64 goals this season. Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins were also 100+ point scorers for the Oilers.

Vegas edged Edmonton for the Pacific Division title and then sent the Oilers home in the playoffs.

Devils (+1200)

New Jersey has a solid nucleus of young players led by Jack Hughes, who set career-high marks for goals (43), assists (56), and points (99) this season. The Devils are positioned to advance to the elite tier of NHL Eastern Conference teams.

The Devils were defeated by the Hurricanes in the second round of the NHL Playoffs, but expect them to advance further in 2024.

Value Picks to Win 2024 NHL Championship

If you’re wondering where this season’s finalists — the Panthers and Golden Knights — are on the 2024 Stanley Cup oddsboard, you will find them in the second tier of teams.

Golden Knights (+1300)

Vegas advanced to the playoffs for the fifth time in six years of operation. Unlike many NHL teams, the Golden Knights don’t count on one or two players for offense.

Jack Eichel, Chandler Stephenson, Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith, Alex Pietrangelo, and William Karlsson all had 50+ points during the regular season. Backup goalie Adin Hill has been the hero this postseason with a 10-4 record.

VGK hoisted the Stanley Cup with a 9-3 win at home over the Panthers in Game 5 of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday night.

Panthers (+1400)

Florida came out of nowhere to advance to the Stanley Cup Final this year. The No. 8 seeded Panthers upset the top-seeded Bruins in the opening round and never looked back.

After coming over in a trade from Calgary, Matthew Tkachuk led Florida in nearly every offensive statistical category. Tkachuk registered 40 goals, 69 assists, and 109 points in the regular season.

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky helped fuel Florida’s postseason run, but the Panthers met their match in the Golden Knights.
