If the 49ers weren’t already the top favorite to win the Super Bowl before last Sunday night’s evisceration of the Cowboys in primetime, they certainly are now. Following that 42-10 romp, the Niners have the shortest Super Bowl winner odds () of any team in the league.
On Sunday, San Francisco’s offense gets a tough test in Cleveland against one of the league’s best defenses (assuming any D can contain this offense), but the Browns are down to their third-string QB, hence the Niners laying 10 points at most books.
Let’s analyze the 49ers vs. Browns odds, props, and give a prediction.

49ers vs. Browns Analysis and Prediction
Anyone who watched 49ers-Cowboys in Week 5 will have a hard time seeing 2-2 Cleveland keeping this one close, especially given that Deshaun Watson will miss this game due to injury. Backup QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson played well in the preseason, but the Browns are starting PJ Walker on Sunday after Thompson-Robinson threw three interceptions against Baltimore in Week 4. The Browns are coming off a bye in Week 5.
Given the struggles Dak Prescott had against San Francisco last week, it’s hard to see Walker, a journeyman who spent the last three seasons with the Panthers, getting much going against Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, and the 49ers’ D.
Cleveland appeared to have a solid recipe for success in Week 1 when their defense led them to a win over the Bengals, but with star RB Nick Chubb suffering a season-ending injury in Week 2 and the offense now down to its third option under center, they’ll need to play perfect on defense and special teams — and also get some lucky bounces — to keep games close.
That’s too much to ask for this weekend, even if Cleveland’s stout D-line is able to challenge SF QB Brock Purdy and the Niners’ offense in a way that no other San Francisco opponent has through five games.
Pick: 49ers (-9.5 at time of publishing), Over
