As you can tell, I love to dine out in Las Vegas as we have so many great restaurants. I like dining out even more during Restaurant Week because not only do I experience some great places but every time I do part of the money goes to the Three Square Food Bank. Restaurant Week runs June 19-29.

One of my stops was The Capital Grille at 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. in the Fashion Show Mall. I went with two friends and we all took advantage of the Restaurant Week special offering.

For $50 we started off with a choice of a Wedge or Caesar Salad, or Clam Chowder. I went with the Wedge, which was good and loaded with crispy bacon.

Next up was to pick your entrée. Options were an 8 ounce Filet Mignon, Herb Roasted Chicken, Bone-In Dry Aged N.Y. Strip or Seared Citrus Glazed Salmon. We all went with the New York Strip.

The side options were: Sam’s Mashed potatoes or French Green Beans with Heirloom Tomatoes. We all went with the Mashed potatoes, which were excellent. My steak was excellent, too. It had a nice outside char yet was pink in the middle.

The fixed price of $50 was a deal as the N.Y. Strip sells for $50 by itself; but we weren’t done. You also got your choice of dessert – Classic Crème Brulee or Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake. I went with the Espresso Cake and it was really good, especially if you love dark chocolate like I do.

It must be noted these were full size desserts not miniature because it was a special deal.

The Grille put together a great deal for Restaurant Week and to help Three Square, which aids those less fortunate right here in Southern Nevada. Since 2007. Nearly four million meals have been provided for those in need through Restaurant Week. It’s a win-win for everyone.

The Grille is a great place to take your special someone for a nice dinner with a view of the Las Vegas Strip from your table. Plus, the wait staff was amazing. Our waitress went above and beyond waiting on our table, making sure we had everything. The VIP treatment to guests for sure.

If you like “old school” steakhouses this is your place. I’ll be back soon as you can’t beat good food, good service and a view of the Strip. I give The Grille 3.75 Forks.
