ACC Betting Favorites and Top-3 Contenders
Virginia Cavaliers (15-3 overall, 7-2 conference)
Virginia has continued its tradition of defensive excellence under head coach Tony Bennett, who led the Cavaliers to the 2019 National Championship.
Virginia gives up a league-low 60.3 points per game. The Cavs average 70.3 points per game on offense. Guards Armaan Franklin (12.8 ppg) and Kihei Clark (11.6) lead UVA’s deliberate offensive attack.

Virginia has shown the ability to get out to early leads, but it hasn’t always been able to maintain them. That will need to change if the Cavs hope to win the ACC and NCAA titles again.
The Cavs haven’t performed well against the number this season, either. Virginia is 7-11 against the spread (ATS), covering at only a 38.9% clip.
Clemson Tigers (17-4 overall, 9-1 conference)
Clemson has been one of the surprise teams in the ACC after starting the season with futures odds of +9500 to win the regular season title. The Tigers are 12-0 overall on their home floor at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Averaging a double-double, forward Hunter Tyson leads Clemson with 15.5 points and 10 rebounds per game. The Tigers have yet to play Virginia or North Carolina, but they did defeat Duke, 72-64.
North Carolina Tar Heels (15-6 overall, 7-3 conference)
North Carolina started the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the country. The Tar Heels then lost four consecutive games — Iowa State, Alabama, Indiana, and Virginia Tech — to drop outside the top 25.
This is still a talented team led by big man Armando Bacot, who eschewed the NBA Draft to return for his senior season. Bacot set the school record for career double-doubles this year. He averages 17.9 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.
Guards R.J. Davis (16.4 ppg) and Caleb Love (16.2 ppg) combine to form one of the top backcourts in the country. Head coach Hubert Davis saw his team start slow last season before peaking at the right time. UNC beat rival Duke in the Final Four before losing to Kansas, 72-69, in the national championship game.
ACC’s Biggest Mover and Sleeper Pick
Pitt Panthers (14-7 overall, 7-3 conference)
How far has Pitt climbed up the ACC oddsboard since the start of the season? The Panthers were completely off the radar at +25000! As of this update, Pitt was +2500. That, friends, is some serious upward trajectory.
If you’re looking for value on your ACC futures bet, Pitt fills the bill. The Panthers started the season slow by losing three of their first four games to non-conference foes. Then Pitt reeled off four straight wins to begin ACC play — and those teams were far from conference doormats.
NC State, Syracuse, North Carolina, and Virginia were all vanquished by the upstart Panthers. Pitt endured a heartbreaking 75-74 loss to Clemson at home after that four-game winning streak. Those two teams have been the biggest movers based on ACC preseason futures odds, but nobody has risen higher than the Panthers.

How to Bet on ACC Basketball Futures
ACC basketball futures odds are available on top sports betting apps. It’s prudent to compare the odds being offered at multiple sportsbooks to find the best prices on your plays.

There’s better betting value down the ACC oddsboard with teams like North Carolina (+850). A $100 bet on the Tar Heels will pay out $850 in winnings (and your original $100 stake back). Feeling frisky? Make a $100 bet on Pitt, our sleeper pick, on a wager that will return $2,500 at odds of +2500.
