Over the last several weeks we have been highlighting some upscale places to eat, but sometimes you just have a craving for a good burger.
I spend a lot of time at the M Resort as it’s just a few minutes from my house. I love watching the games in their sports book. So when the M opened a Gourmet Burger joint inside their Steakhouse you knew I would have to give it a try.
Anthony’s Gourmet Burgers & Brews is a winner. This isn’t your typical burger joint. Anthony’s has oversize burgers made from fresh prime angus beef. You’ll need both hands for these burgers and a napkin as you can expect a little of the juiciness of these giant patties to run down your chin. These burgers would be great just plain with a slab of cheese but Anthony’s takes their gourmet burgers to the next level.
Their Imperial Burger is topped with stout braised short ribs, mushrooms, gruyere cheese and caramelized onions. They also have a lager burger that has braised wild mushrooms, Sam Adams lager and Swiss cheese. If you are watching your red meat intake, try their “hefeweizen” burger. That is a turkey burger with a cranberry-blue moon orange mayonnaise.
For those of you looking to kick up the spice a bit, check out their IPA burger, which is bbq spiced with roasted hatch chiles, pepper jack cheese and fried jalapenos. If you go for that one you’ll be glad Anthony’s has an extensive selection of bottled beers to choose from to put out the fire you just created.
Finally, for those of you who like to keep it simple, the pilsner burger is the way to go as this is your classic cheeseburger with white and yellow American cheese. You know, sometimes keeping it simple is as good as it gets, and this burger will not disappoint your taste buds.
To me, you can have the best burger in the world and if it’s not sitting on a good bun the burger is ruined. I can tell you the buns Anthony’s uses are the perfect companion to these burgers. Finally, we might as well go all the way and have some fries, which here are amazing. Gourmet fries, just like the burgers.
Anthony’s has a very creative selection of fries, including salt and pepper, garlic parmesan, truffle, white cheddar bacon, and sweet potato. Personally I love the truffle fries.
Anthony’s Gourmet Burgers and Brews is located inside the M Resort and is open daily from 4-10 p.m. The burgers will range from $10-13 but, again, this isn’t In-N-Out. The burgers are worth every penny. So next time you’re hungry from a long day in the sports book check out the burgers here. Trust me, you will be glad you did.
Anthony’s Gourmet Burgers & Brews is a hidden gem inside the M Resort and I give it 3.5 Forks.
