Earlier this season, the Browns went into Houston and ran over the Texans. While they did not have CJ Stroud in that game, the defense had no answers for Joe Flacco and Amari Cooper. Even though Houston is a division champion, they enter this Wild Card matchup as a slight point underdog.

With a tight spread, trying to find a winner can be challenging. Luckily, we have poured through the data and have come up with the best NFL Wild Card anytime TD scorer picks.

NFL Wild Card Anytime TD Scorer Props

David Njoku

At this point, it would be foolish not to take David Njoku‘s anytime TD scorer odds.

Since Flacco became the starter in Cleveland, Njoku’s production has skyrocketed. In his first 11 games this season, Njoku had 51 catches for 492 yards and two touchdowns. With Flacco under center, Njoku has 30 catches for 390 yards and four touchdowns in just five games.

The Texans have also allowed the second-most receptions and fifth-most yards to opposing tight ends this season. Houston’s defense has been relatively solid for the season, especially against the run. The Texans rank second in yards per rush (3.5) and rushing yards per game (96.6).

Usually, that would be a problem for the Browns, but they have been passing the ball more with Flacco. Cleveland still runs the ball around 30 times per game, but throwing the ball downfield is how the Browns have become a legitimate contender.

The Texans have had trouble stopping the pass all season, ranking 27th in yards per pass (7.0) and 23rd in defensive DVOA against the pass. With an especially weak linebacker core, Njoku should have another big day and cash an anytime TD scorer prop.

Noah Brown

Stroud has been so good in Houston that he is making average-to-mediocre receivers such as Noah Brown look like competent everyday players. Brown has stuck around the NFL for a few years coming out of Ohio State.

He spent his first five years in Dallas, where he did not do very much until his final year. In his last season with the Cowboys, Brown put up 555 yards and three touchdowns on 43 receptions. That was enough to earn him a chance with Houston, and he has done a solid job at contributing to one of the better passing attacks in the NFL.

In 10 games, Brown has 567 yards and two touchdowns, and he has had a couple of monster performances, including three weeks ago against the Titans, where Brown had 82 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets.

This Browns’ defense will be a challenge for Stroud, especially since he did not play against them last time. Cleveland’s defense ranks second in DVOA and first in yards per game, completion percentage, and third down conversion rate.

However, the Browns’ defense is noticeably worse on the road. They allow 5.5 yards per game on the road, and while the secondary is very good, they are a bit leaky at times, ranking 21st in points per play. It also does not help that the Browns are last in opponents’ red zone touchdown conversion rate.

Brown has been slowed down by a few injuries this season, but he should get plenty of opportunity to score, especially if Houston is running a negative game script.
