This is the last big week for college football as teams try to get that important win that will put them in some kind of bowl, while others are still jockeying for a shot at the National Championship.
Undefeated Auburn must travel to Tuscaloosa and face Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide, while unbeaten Oregon is home and a big favorite against Arizona . Undefeated Boise State travels to Reno to face Nevada , and TCU should improve to 12-0 with a cake walk in Albuquerque .
Let’s move on to some games and see if we can gets some more winners.
NCAA
Thursday, Nov. 25
Texas A&M -3 at Texas (ESPN): Happy Thanksgiving. If you ate your bird already, please don’t take a nap. This 5 p.m. kickoff could be very good. If there is one team I would not want to be playing right now, it’s A&M. The Aggies have won and covered five straight games including last week’s 9-6 victory over Nebraska . A&M.
Friday, Nov. 26
SMU -1½ at E. Carolina : In their last four games, the host Pirates have given up an average of 57 points a game. Since this is an 11 a.m. TV game, we will have a total. I don’t know now how high they can make it, but we will be betting on plenty. OVER.
Arizona +17½ at Oregon (ESPN): All the Ducks need for this 4 p.m. start is a win. They don’t need to blow anyone out or get a key player hurt. HC Mike Stoops from Arizona would like nothing better than to knock off the Ducks and is one of the best when it comes to revenge games. The Wildcats lost a heartbreaker last year in Tucson 44-41, and don’t forget next week Oregon must travel to Corvallis and play the dangerous Beavers. ARIZONA .
Saturday, Nov. 27
Michigan +18½ at Ohio St (ABC): I will watch this 9 a.m. game with no sound as I just cannot take these network announcers. The Wolverines have decided not to play defense anymore and that will add up to a high scoring game. OVER.
N’western +23 at Wisc:onsin (ESPN 2): Another 9 a.m. affair. The Badgers are another team I would not want to play now. They have won and covered five straight and their offense is averaging over 45 point a game in their last 5. They will be heading to a major bowl game. WISCONSIN / OVER.
Oklahoma +2½ at Okla St (ABC): Note the 5 p.m. time change. A great spot for the Cowboys to get a rare win over the Sooners. OSU last won back in 2002 and were shut out last year 27-0. OKLA ST .
BYU +10 at Utah (MTN): The Cougars are peeking at the right time and with a win in this 12:30 p.m. clash, could secure a 7 win season and a bowl game after starting off at 2-5. BYU has easily won and covered its last 3. BYU.
Oregon St +14 at Stanford: Note the 4:30 p.m. time change. This is my favorite game of the week. The streaking Cardinals have won their last 6 and catch the visiting Beavers off huge win over USC and looking ahead to next week against arch rival Oregon Ducks. Bet this game and forget it! STANFORD.
In the NFL this week, the new Cowboys are a dog at home against last year’s Super Bowl champs New Orleans . We will ride the COWBOYS as a win over the Saints in front of the Dallas faithful and a national TV audience on Turkey Day. Minnesota ’s Brett Favre looking older as the season moves closer to his final retirement and a trip to Washington is not the answer. REDSKINS.
Who are these Tampa Bay Buccaneers? We find out this week as they head into Baltimore . Lay the TD with the RAVENS. What can anyone say about (Mike) Vick that hasn’t been uttered on TV? We will ride the QB and EAGLES against the Bears and all the way to the Super Bowl.
Have a great Turkey weekend and cash some parlays and teaser cards.
