Both the No. 1 Wildcats and the No. 3 Boilermakers have played tough early-season schedules, and they’ve lost just once between them. Purdue has wins over Gonzaga, Tennessee, and Marquette, but suffered an upset loss to Northwestern on Dec. 1. Arizona is undefeated despite facing Duke, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.

Each of these teams has a strong resume already, and the winner will have a strong case for having the best nonconference resume in the country.

Below is everything you need to know about Saturday’s game, including our Arizona vs Purdue betting pick.

Here are our Arizona vs Purdue odds, picks, and predictions.

Arizona Wildcats (8-0, 8-0 ATS)

Arizona started the season strong with a road win at Duke on Nov. 10, and the Wildcats have continued to look like a Final Four contender throughout nonconference play. They’ve since beaten Michigan State and Wisconsin, routing the Badgers 98-73 last Saturday to enter the Purdue matchup with a ton of momentum. Few teams in the country can match Arizona’s combination of size and experience. Coach Tommy Lloyd’s starting five includes four seniors, and between starting center Oumar Ballo and backup Motiejus Krivas, he has two seven-footers to battle Purdue star Zach Edey. The Wildcats are the rare top-five team without a clear-cut go-to scorer. Former UNC Tar Heel Caleb Love averages 14 points per game, but all five starters average at least 12 points per game.

Purdue Boilermakers (9-1, 6-2-2 ATS)

The Boilermakers are led by one of the national player of the year favorites in big man Zach Edey, last year’s Wooden Award winner. The 7-foot-4, 300-pounder typically has several inches on the next-tallest player on the court, and he’s been dominant down low for Purdue since his sophomore season. Edey is currently the heavy favorite at to become the first player since Ralph Sampson to win the Wooden Award in consecutive seasons.

It’s not just Edey who makes this team dangerous, though. The Boilermakers’ star center is one of four players averaging at least 10 points. That group includes guard Braden Smith, who is averaging 13.2 points and 7.2 assists (sixth-most in the country). The biggest question for Purdue is whether it can win on a night when Edey is held in check, but no one’s been able to do that yet this year (Edey had 35 points and 14 boards in his team’s loss to Northwestern).

Arizona vs Purdue Odds and Prediction: Boilermakers to Win Close Game

There’s probably not a team in college basketball that can shut down Edey, who’s averaging nearly 25 points per game and taking 11.6 free throws per game. But between Ballo and Krivas, Arizona should be able to at least limit Edey’s trips to the free-throw line, if not keep him in check. The Wildcats have the depth to at least keep this game close, and it’s hard to bet against a team with this much experience.

Saturday’s game marks the toughest test yet for Arizona, and Edey makes it hard to see Purdue losing (especially after watching this team get through Gonzaga, Tennessee, and Marquette in Maui). If Arizona were a more substantial underdog, the play would be to take them plus the points, but I like Purdue to win and cover the tight spread in front of a pro-Boilermakers crowd in Indy.

Pick: Purdue (-1.5 at time of publishing)
