With three games remaining, second-place Arsenal must win their final three Premier League matches and hope Man City drop some points. Otherwise, Mikel Arteta’s side will come up just short of the league title, as Arsenal would finish with 90 points and City with 94 if both teams win out.

In Gaming Today’s breakdown of Arsenal vs. Brighton odds, props, and predictions, we analyze whether Brighton, coming off a brutal 5-1 loss to Everton on Monday, can upset an Arsenal side hoping to keep its EPL championship hopes alive.

Arsenal Roster, Injuries, and Betting News

Arsenal have had an outstanding season, but they’ve faltered just enough down the stretch to put themselves a bit behind City as the Premier League season wraps up over the next couple weeks.

Given the lead Arsenal had on Man City through early April, some fans will lament the four-game stretch of three draws (Liverpool, West Ham, and Southampton) and a loss to City that gave Pep Guardiola’s team the inside track to its fifth EPL title in six years. But with 81 points through 35 matches, this year’s team has still taken a massive step forward from last year, when it finished in fifth place with 69 points.

The Gunners have responded well to the skid that ended with the loss to City, beating Chelsea 3-1 and Newcastle 2-0 in their last two matches. With Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Wolves left on the schedule, Arsenal will be favored the rest of the way. Five consecutive wins to close the season would make this a historic campaign, even if it ends without a trophy.

Injuries

One of the biggest reasons Arsenal struggled in April was the injury to center back William Saliba in March. The Arsenal back line has not been the same without him, and he was officially ruled out for the rest of the season this week.

The other injury blow this week for Arsenal was the news that left back Oleksandr Zinchenko, who injured his calf against Newcastle last weekend, will not play the rest of the season. Kieran Tierney will likely fill Zinchenko’s role the rest of the way, while Jakub Kiwior has stepped in at center back the last two matches, relieving Rob Holding, who had stepped in for Saliba.

Brighton Roster, Injuries, and Betting News

Brighton, like Arsenal, have dramatically outperformed their preseason expectations so much so that they’re still in the mix for a top-6 finish and a likely spot in the 2023-24 UEFA Europa League.

If Brighton (-150 to finish top-6 on DraftKings) finish in sixth place or better in the EPL, they would have a UEL spot as long as the winner of the FA Cup final finishes top four — and FA Cup finalists Man City and ManU are both in position to do so.

Injuries to several key players, as well as fatigue, have started to catch up to Brighton over the last few weeks, leading to stumbles against Nottingham Forest (a 3-1 loss on April 26) and Everton earlier this week.

Still, Brighton beat Manchester United 1-0 on May 4 and took them to PKs on April 23 in the FA Cup semifinals, impressive showings given ManU’s massive financial advantage.

Brighton have weathered the loss of key pieces all season, from ex-manager Graham Potter’s early-season departure for Chelsea to forward Leandro Trossard’s move to Arsenal in January. And the team’s depth has been further tested with one injury after another in April and May. Manager Roberto de Zerbi revealed on Friday that winger Solly March (seven goals and seven assists in Premier League action) might be out the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

Despite the mounting injury issues, Brighton have a number of dangerous players that should test Arsenal, from midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo to speedy left winger Kaoru Mitoma.

Injuries

In addition to March, Brighton will likely be without first-choice defenders Adam Webster and Joel Veltman.

Arsenal vs. Brighton Prediction: Arsenal 2, Brighton 1

On one hand, it makes sense that Brighton are a massive underdog on the road at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have, after all, looked impressive the last two weeks, particularly in their 2-0 win over Newcastle. The host’s form, as well as Brighton’s disastrous 5-1 loss to Everton on Monday, seem to have convinced oddsmakers that Brighton are completely overmatched this weekend.

But Brighton have played too well in three matches against Tottenham and Manchester United over the last couple of months (though they lost two of those) to rule out them at least putting up a good fight on Sunday.

The underdogs will miss March, Veltman, and Webster. But all year long, they’ve had one player after another step up when given the opportunity, with 19-year-old Julio Enciso and 18-year-old Facundo Buonanotte the latest to have performed well when called upon.

Here are a few other bets available at DraftKings that are worth checking out:

  • Double Chance: Tie or Brighton (+105)
  • Parlay: Arsenal Win, Both Teams To Score (+160)
