The BYU Cougars are off to an impressive 2-0 start after beating the Arizona Wildcats and Utah. Now they look to go 3-0 against the Pac-12 with a win over ASU. With the ASU Suns Devils currently ranked 19 and the Cougars ranked 23,  it is going to be a top 25 match-up for the books.

But it won’t be an easy task for the Cougars to beat the Devils. ASU is also 2-0, winning both games by 27 points. This will be a big test for ASU to prove they are the real deal.

ASU Sun Devils (2-0)

Jayden Daniels has been spectacular so far this season. And he hasn’t been the only one standing out on the roster. Rachaad White, Ricky Pearsall, and Daniyel Ngata have all been impressive on offense.

The Devils are adding another offensive weapon to the mix for the game against BYU. The game will be the first for wide receiver Elijhah Badger, a highly regarded redshirt freshman. He was unable to play last season due to academic ineligibility.

On the other side of the ball, Darien Butler and the rest of the defense is a force to be reckoned with. They started off slow in the UNLV game, but once they got a groove going, they were unstoppable holding UNLV to a total of 155 yards.

The entire veteran squad is full of talent and if they can stay focused and can limit their penalties, they could very well be at the top of the Pac-12 South this season and playing in a decent bowl game.

BYU Cougars (2-0)

BYU is looking to continue its winning streak against the Pac-12 after beating Utah last week. Even though the Cougars struggled with penalties, quarterback Jaren Hall put on a show with three touchdowns, 149 passing yards, and 92 rushing yards.

The Cougars had 21 first downs and went 11 for 19 on third downs in their win against Utah. This is where ASU’s defense will need to come out strong if they want to stop BYU.

BYU’s roster has good depth at offense with players like Puka Nacua and Tyler Allgeier.  But the BYU offense will need to put up plenty of points if they want to compete against high-scoring ASU. Plus, ASU’s running game might prove to be too much to handle for the Cougar’s defense. Making BYU rely even more so on their offensive talent.

Sports Betting Picks

This is a game that could really go either way. The Devils are the favorites even though they are on the road and I believe that if they can perform as they have in the last two games, the Cougars will have no chance of stopping them.

Especially if ASU can get the run game going early on, they will tire out the defense and be able to put up points.

As for the total, both of these teams can score, and with ASU scoring a combined 78 points in their first two games and BYU a combined 50 points, I would take the over.
