Now that summer is officially here with the passing of the Memorial Day Weekend, I can resume my quest for the Best Burger in Las Vegas. I mean, who doesn’t love a juicy burger?
Does anything thing say summer better than a burger? And, I just may have found the best one in Las Vegas. Well, not quite. Technically this place is in Boulder City, and I didn’t find it by myself.
I have to give an assist to my stepdaughter Katie. Boulder City is just 20 minutes from Henderson, and Katie and her friends go to the lake a lot. When they do, there’s a stop along the way in Boulder City.
One Friday night my wife Lori, Katie and I headed out for a burger joint called Pit Stop (802 Buchanan Blvd.). Pit Stop is a diner-type place in a strip mall. Not fancy but I’ll tell you it’s the best burger I have had in Las Vegas.
I have had many around town from $5 to $25 at some of the swanky burger joints on the . None come close to Pit Stop.
I went with the Double Pit Burger, which consists of two 1/3-pound beef patties with cheese. I chose Cheddar.
All of their burgers are served with lettuce, tomato, onions and special sauce. The price was just $6.25, which was a bargain. My burger was very juicy as all of their patties are fresh ground and very tasty.
The hamburger meat was just the right mixture. A lot of places serve a mix of ground meat that, in my opinion, is too lean, which will result in a dry and flavorless burger. I’m not saying you want a greasy mess but you want a ground meat mixture that produces some juice.
Yes, I want to have to use my napkin when I eat my burger and that, folks, is where the taste comes. We ordered burgers at different temperatures and all cooked to perfection.
The fries were great, thin cut and very crispy on the outside yet soft inside just the way I like them.
The Pit Stop is also known for their Fish and Chips but having chosen the burger I can’t tell you how they are. I can say several people around us who ordered the Fish and Chips seemed to be enjoying their meal.
I will continue my quest for the Best Burger in Vegas but for right now the leader is Pit Stop. Great burger and prices make this Stop a huge winner in my book. I’m giving them 3.75 Forks.
